You will be taken into a cubicle and lay on the couch, bend your legs up and open them.  The doctor/nurse then takes a spatula and inserts it and scraps a few cells off for examination.  It doesnt hurt and will be over in a minute or far less.  If they find something abnormal then they will call you back.  Even if they do it is not something to get worked up about as further cells can be removed if there is an area of concern.  It is best to get this done as often as your doctor will allow as it could save your life.
