What Does Construction Criticism Mean?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Sometimes you can get criticism and you just feel real bad and you are not motivated to change your ways. Constructive criticism's purpose it so to help you fix the problem, not negate you. It is told in a non-threatening way. For example, regular criticism is something like this:

"Clean up your room right now. Look at this mess. How can you let it get this bad. And on and on"

Constructive criticism goes something like this:

"A cluttered room leads to cluttered thinking and cluttered decision making. You can see that this has gotten out of hand and it looks real overwhelming. What if I helped you get started, and we will only do half today and then the rest tomorrow?"
