Because companies don't want to get sued when someones kid gets hurt falling on their property, they also don't want the kids in the way of traffic... There is a skate shop close to where I live and you have to turn the corner with caution because they are always in the middle of the street as if a deer staring into headlights and to be honest the locals have gotten tired of it and no longer slow down they just turn the corner full force and honk with no intent to stop... There are skate parks here so no need to play in the street and there are right and wrong ways to go about things... If they want to use the skateboards as transport and not be so restricted they should be more respectful of the other moving vehicles in the area... Those on bikes still have to obey street laws and flow with traffic and stay out of the way... The laws are a wake up call to parents not watching the kids cuz when the kids get in trouble for skateboarding where prohibited so do the parents...

They do it for safety reasons.. To avoid more accidents.. Public places are not safe.. Skateboarding is pretty risky and hard.. I admire people into it.. Kewl!

They should just build places that they can go and skate board,this is a sport for those kids so give them a place to enjoy it, that is better then killing and robbing, but don't take it away and leave them no alternative option,I'm a tax payer so do as you always do raise taxes and build are skat board area where these kids can go and enjoy......my story
