How Do I Teach My Child To Walk?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

It depends on the age of the child. Is he/she crawling right now and can pull themselves up? Are they able to stand up against a table/couch with some pretty good balance? I used toys to bribe my children to begin walking very short distances initially. I also started out with just providing support and holding their hands while trying to get them to walk, until they felt fearless enough to do it themselves when coming after their toys!  Good luck with your endeavors in getting your child to walk! Lots of fun afterwards and then they get into EVERYTHING!!

Don't rush it.  A baby will walk when it is ready.  Then you'll just want he/she to sit down so you can rest.
