    A trade association is a body of people that protects the interests of a certain group of people undertaking a particular job, for example, world coal institute or national retail federation. This body takes up issues concerning the particular interests of the groups and executes a multitude of activities to meet their requirements. Amongst the activities of these associations, some prime activities are, addressing grievances, influencing government policies, conducting various public relations activities, providing support in times of need. Trade associations also recognize and reward respected members and have various policies in place for their patrons.
