I am not sure how safe bathing a dog in laundry detergent is. I would suggest going to a vet office and purchasing some dog shampoo. If you can't afford that, find a recipe to make a home made dog detergent.

Baby shampoo works great, doesn't hurt their eyes, and it is really a lot less expenxive that actual dog shampoo. I have been told not to bathe a dog more than once every couple months as it tends to dry out their skin from the essential oils needed to keep it healthy.

Boraxo powder is used to kill flees in your home not on your dog. You sprinkle it on your carpet and it kills the flees without poisoning your family.
