Hi Tumaj!  My coach has told me that whether you break from the center of the table or from one of the sides, you should hit the cue ball as if you were trying to fit it "inside" of the object ball (in a break, this would be the first ball at the top of the rack).  Make sure to shoot at the center of the cue ball and keep you cue level (parallel to the floor).  I think it's under construction right now, but there's a great site that I have found very helpful.  It should be available again soon.  Happy billiards playing!   www.tomrosspool.com/index.html

When I break I like to put the 8 ball on the left side of the center and aim between the top ball on that side and the 2nd ball or between the 2nd and 3rd
I usually get it least one stripe or solid in when I do this method
The most I have ever gotten in when breaking this way is 3 (2 solids and 1 stripe)

I was taught by an old Black man years ago, that in 8 ball you draw a line from the side spot behind the line and three fingers out to the 3/4 side of the 2nd. Ball. Then use top left English as hard as you can shoot it!
This Does increase your making the 8 ball on the break a lot, but in no way every shot for the rack has to be tight, square, and centered to have a chance! So you check the rack first!
Marscronie ?? When I was 14 showed a break for 8 ball lining up the left or right spot to the head ball with a lot of top English and SUPER hard to make balls on the break, but again the rack is VERY important, too!
I us a 60" 12 snooker solid cue with a shaped SUPER soft tip($40), and green chalk for playing, and shoot soft if possible!
I break with a heavy stick with a very good tip!
I've won two "Budweiser Shoot Outs" too! Good Luck it take A LOT OF PRACTICE, Cuz!

In our league seems like everyone has started with the cue either more right or left at an angle.
