What Do I Do If My Dogs Nose Is Dry?

Dry nose in dogs does not indicates any thing. Many owners mistakenly consider that dry and warm nose in dogs is sign of illness while cold and wet nose indicates good health. This is totally wrong concept. Nose condition in dogs does not tell any thing about health except runny nose which is a medical condition.

Some breeds of dogs have comparatively dry nose than others. Dogs have dry nose after waking up in the morning. Instead of monitoring nose conditions in dogs, general signs of illness should be noticed. These signs can be due to illnesses. These signs are  loss of appetite, Loss of weight, lethargy, vomiting, diarrhea etc.
