Where Is Manila?

Manila is the capital of Philippines. It is situated on the eastern shore of Manila Bay on Luzon. Manila is a flourishing Metropolitan area and has a population of over ten million people.

The population of Manila is second highest in the country; it has more than 1.5 million residents. Quezon City which was Philippines earlier capital has the highest population. The initial settlers of Manila were Tagalogs. Over the period of years Visayans, Bicolanos, llocanos, Maranaos, Chinese and Spanish people have migrated to Manila on regular basis. Americans, Arabs, Indonesians, Indians and Koreans are also found in Manila.

The key language of Manila is Tagalog, Hence foreigners and tourist generally find it difficult to communicate to the people of Manila as they do not known English and only speak Tagalog.
