As we know that the HTML is a language used for web page designing. It is very simple and powerful one .any body that has no previous knowledge of programming can learn this language very easily and can develop web pages.HTML was derived from SGML , but it is more flexible than it .it provides the platform independence it means that web pages developed in HTML can be run on any type of computer system and any type of browser as well.
Another major facility provided by HTML is page linking. We can easily link all the web pages through mark-up.It can not only display the data in web pages but also helps to use graphics and animations in these pages which makes the web site more attractive.
The HTML has been an important language in web designing but it also has some shortcomings .The basic limitation of HTML is that it does not provide any programming capability. With the help of HTML, we can just format the data on a web page,thus it can create only static web pages. No any changing effect on a web page can be created with HTML. Therefore we have to use other scripting languages to add dynamics to a web page.
