    Pneumonia is a condition, inflammation of the lungs, and can be caused by a number of micro-organisms, virus, bacteria, fungus. Pneumonia isn't normally contagious, though it would depend on what caused the pneumonia.

      Yes Pneumonia can be contagious. The bacteria, fungus or virus that are in the nasal or mouth secretions can infect others. The people most at risk are the very young and old. The antibiotics used today are very effective. This can still be a fatal disease so it should be taken seriously. After 2 weeks it should no longer be contagious
