In the good old days a slim jim would work because most cars had a simple lock button that always seemed to have a bend in it that the slim jim could grab and pull up to unlock the door.
But today the locks are not like that and to make things worse doors that have power locks may not have anything you can reach with a slim jim.
And unless you really know when the locking mechanism is like you are blind and have little chance to open a door.
