Where Does My Surname Come From, Sherlock?

I have always wondered where this name came. It's a strange name but almost every one knows it from the made up sherlock homes character. I would love to know where it came from.

    The name Sherlock is from Gaelic Origin. From Saor it is pronounced as with 'h' after the 'S,' and makes it signifying clear and the word Loch means a lake, the full name means a clear lake.
