What Is A Pyle Pirate?

    Howard Pyle was a painter, writer, teacher and decorator. He was born in the United States of America in the year 1853. He was known for his paintings of pirates. Some of his most well-known paintings of pirates were Drake's attack upon San Domingo in the year 1883, Blackbeard's last fight in the year 1895, He leaped to the wheel in the year 1897, Harper's Round Table in the month of June 1897 and The Buccaneers by Howard Pyle.

    In the period of eleven years between the turn of the 20th century (that is, the year 1900) and Pyle's death at the age of 58 in the year 1911, the painter drew a crayon painting on paper which was entitled Kidd on the Deck of the Adventure Galley in the year 1902 and an oil painting on canvas which was entitled Marooned in the year 1909, amongst other painting of pirates.
