My car was repossessed on sunday,I need my property from vehicle, repo co. Stated I would have to pay them 25.00 dollars to get my property. Is this legal?

It's legal in my state. (I called the local police to find out) My car was stolen, I saw it wrapped around a pole when driving home one day. Because it was hitched to the tow truck, it and all the contents inside belonged to the state. Yep, it sucks, so I did a quick inventory of the stuff that I had in the car and decided not to pay the fee to get it all back. If you have stuff in there worth more than the fee, go pay the fee and get your stuff back.
