I Am Visiting Stratford On Avon, What Should I Do And See?

Stratford, or Stratford on Avon (Stratford 'upon' Avon is a few miles away) is a town in Warwickshire. It is the birth place and resting place of William Shakespeare, the greatest literary figure in the English language. Much of Stratford's industry relates to tourism, infact the entire town seems to run on the presence of strangers.

Obviously if you are in Stratford, you should go and see the world renowned and famous Royal Shakespeare Company who have their base in Stratford, right on the River Avon. Shakespeare's house and Anne Hathaway's Cottage are all within reach of the city centre, and there are many bookshops and Shakespeare related (though nothing to actually do with him) tea rooms and restaurants. Try to go where the locals go, it's a mark of quality and less like Euro-Shakespeare-Disney.

Stratford is in the countryside, so it might be fun to just explore the country, there are many long walks that can be made along the river bank. It is especially nice in summer, although it tends to flood during winter.
