I've had over a dozen of the little weiners in my life and about 8 to 12 pounds is good, but I had to be ever so careful about their weight because god didn't give these poor hounds and extra set of feet at the mid section and every one of mine that got even 2 pounds over weight died of a bad back. They also happen to be the best deer and varment dogs I ever had. They run bush as fast as they can a badger hole. Their great dogs.
