How Do You Cut A Watermelon?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Before cutting a watermelon, it must be washed thoroughly under cold water. It must be kept in mind that a sharp kitchen knife and a cutting surface (or cutting board) which is secure must be used while cutting a watermelon. The watermelon must be cut into cubes and both ends of the fruit must be removed. It must be stood vertically on the cutting surface.

A side must be chosen and it must be sliced downward to cut the rind off. It must be sliced all the way down to the opposite end of the watermelon. The first slice of rind removes more of the flesh of the fruit than the subsequent slices of rind. All the rind must be removed. About four to six vertical slices must be cut, but you must stop halfway through and then proceed to cut about four to six vertical slices which are perpendicular to the previous slices stopping halfway down the watermelon to form a pattern of squares at the top of the fruit.
