They are very cute and friendly animals and there is no harm in keeping them as pets because they are innocent too. And they are too cute in appearance that the owners always love them. As far as their foolishness is concerned this is true to some extent. In fact they are not foolish; they have smart and active way of living. But this is the fact they are very courageous and curious and this is why they do not feel danger in going anywhere. And they can go into small holes and the electrical appliances just because of their curious nature. By doing so they can get injuries because often they get electric shock by going into the underneath parts of the electrical appliances like washing machines etc.

And another fact is that they do not like to live in cages and when you keep them free in your homes then the possibility of the problems created by them increases. so, in fact they are not foolish but their curious and courageous nature might create problems for them but if you deal them wisely then there is in harm in keeping them as pets because they no doubt they are very cute and friendly companions.

They are a lot of work too. They get very very nasty looking and smelling cages. Be careful to keep them off the floor they like to use the floor as a toilet sometimes.

The ferret stink also goes down if the females are spayed and males are neutered! This is highly recommended if you want to keep yours indoors. . . Or handle them for any regular extent of time.

There are fur sprays available that reduce the smell somewhat in addition to being de-sexed. It is recommended that you clean the ferret cage once a week or as needed!

And the ferret can be trained to use a litter box as a cat, but they don't cover up their poo!
