    Kuala Lumpur is the capital city of Malaysia. It is the capital of Malaysia and is a Malaysian Federal Territories. Kuala Lumpur dates back to the 1850s when the Malay ruler of Klang had sent Chinese upriver to build new and bigger tin mines in Kuala Lumpur. Tine mines were built at Ampang, Pudu and Batu.

    The trading station was a wild front line town which was hit on regular intervals by floods, fires, diseases and later by the Selangor Civil war. During this period, Kapitan Cina Yap Ah Loy surfaced as the leader. He played a key role in the growth and prosperity of the town.

    Kuala Lumpur is exactly positioned at the meeting point of Klang and Gombak River. It is mainly bounded by forests and hills. Kuala Lumpur was officially given city status in 1974.
