Comments are sometimes disapproved because they are unclear. This is usually a problem with grammar, spelling or punctuation; or sometimes the comment is too short to make any sense. Occasionally you see a comment which is in good English, but it’s impossible to understand what point the person is trying to make.
Another common reason is content. Typically, a comment will be removed if it is very aggressive, insulting or threatening in tone, whether towards the person who asked the question, the person who answered it or some other person or group of people. Even if you think an answer is very poor, attacking the person who wrote it is not allowed on Blurtit – criticism is welcome but must be fair and reasonable.
Spam – advertising yourself, your own blog, website etc – is not allowed anywhere on Blurtit, including the comments section.
A comment may be removed if it is misleading (this can also happen if you accidentally comment on the wrong answer) or regarded as nonsense – especially, a silly comment on a serious question and answer is likely to be disapproved.
