First of all, it all depends upon your interest. i.e. which profession inspires you the most or in which profession you are interested. But there are, of course, some professions, which require specialization in certain fields. For example, you cannot, certainly, enter into medical profession, even if you have interest in the field, by having a Masters degree in literature.
There are various fields, one can join, after completion of Masters in Literature. Primarily, with this degree, one can join teaching line any time, provided one has a sound grip of the subject. Moreover, you can also join some theatre as a writer but this requires a lot of creative abilities. You cannot write only on the basis of your Master degree but you also need some good observation and capacity to give words to your thoughts.
There is one more relevant field for Masters of Literature. They may join any newspaper as a writer. And probably, after teaching, this is the second most common profession taken up by literature graduates.
A very common profession, among the literature graduates, is taking up civil services. A master degree in English Language and literature always renders you with a good standing in the competitive exams.
