There are not many IT companies in the world that will have the designation of "Suprvisor." When you refer to the designation "Supervisor," I'm making the assumption that you are referring to "Project Manager (PM)."

The role of the PM is very simple at one level. He has to ensure that all the deliverables of a particular project are met on time and within the budget. In an ideal scenario there should not be any deviation from the project plan and the statement of work (SOW) that has been signed off by the client.

The complex part of the PM's role is as follows:

Recruitment of the team - The PM will have to recruit people from within the organization who have the necessary technical and managerial skills to execute the project. Since this is an IT project, the individual will have to be willing to travel to a foreign location if required.
