Well to make a perfect jam cake you must fill it with lots of cream to make it look good and tasty. Adding different colors to cake according to theme of party or birthday can give a cohesive touch to whole party and adding cherries, jams and fruits are great.

I'm doing one for my son's 5th b-day.  I have 2 ideas...there's a Wilton cake pan of a truck w/ a camper.  I thought about decorating this to look like Grave Digger.  The other idea that I have is to make a regular sheet cake and have a monster truck scene on top.  Put some monster trucks on top...crushed vanilla wafers for "track"..."wreck"ed Matchbox cars for them to jump over...pile of icing for the jumps.

I would putt jelly worm in it, hanging out at the side, them a jam that look like blood and sprinkle sugar over the cake with the jam already on it.
