How Do You Take Care Of An Injured Snake?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

It cannot be stressed enough how important extreme caution is when handling snakes. Never underrate these reptiles even though they may be just pets to you. Snakes were not meant for caging. Remember that hobbyists in addition to some expert herpetologists have faced grievous injuries or even been killed. You need to be doubly cautious when dealing with a snake that has been injured. The snake might strike out at anything in its path.

You will need to take the pet to the local veterinarian in order to assess the extent and nature of the snake's injuries. He or she can then advise you on the proper care of that particular reptile. If you have no experience in handling snakes it is imperative that you get in touch with the local animal control authorities to move the snake. Just make sure that you seal or isolate the area until help arrives.
