He invented basketball and wrote the first rule book. I guess he must have been one of the first to play the game. He founded the university of Kansas so he must have been playing there. He is Canadian and was a citizen of the US too.

He didn't actually play himself I think but he created the game for some athletes to keep them busy and in good shape inside a gym during a cold winter.
