What Is Yahoo! Messenger?

Yahoo! Messenger works the same as MSN Messenger. Yahoo! Messenger allows users to keep in touch with Windows Live Messenger contacts. Users can add friends to their contacts list and add contacts to their address book.

Messages can also be created to show your friends whether or not you are online. These can be custom messages or the user can select a message from a drop down list.

Users can share photos with their contacts and add their own avatars. They can also change their backgrounds for themselves or their friends, and emoticons can be used during conversations.

Files up to 1GB can be shared with contacts and users can use plug-ins to share content from their favourite sites with their contacts. Phone calls can be made via the instant messenger to a user's friend's home phone or mobile phone.
