The administrative head quarters of Cumbria is Carlisle. The Lake District National Park is situated in Cumbria itself. This park is considered to be one of the most beautiful places in the United Kingdom. This park has also been an inspiration to many musical artists and writers over the years.

    The neighboring counties of Cumbria include County Durham, North Yorkshire, Lancashire and Northumberland.
