What Is The Source Of Traditional Scoring In The Sport Of Tennis?

Keeping score in the game of tennis begins with "love" meaning zero. The first point is called "15" the second "30" and the thirs "45" ... The fourth is the winning score. Where did this method of scoring originate? What is the source of the illogical numbering system?

    There are two theories about this. One is that the system was based on the clock face; 15, 30 and so on (Though I do wonder if they counted time like that in the Middle Ages? Wouldn't people think of half or quarter instead?) Another is that the number 60 was considered good or lucky. You can find out more here.
