What is the haymarket riot? What happened? When and where did it happen?

Haymarket riot was basically a rally that became violent later on. It was held on 4th May 1886 in Chicago. It is considered as the basis for the origin of the May day which is observed by the laborers all around the world. On this day, when the rally was held for the support of striking worker, an unknown person threw a bomb at the police and seven police officers were killed along with civilians.
