Yes, you know when it happens. It is a quite painful process, and get even more painful in advanced stages of pregnancy. The fetus fails to survive, and heavy bleeding is observed. Which is the main symptom of a miscarriage, and you can actually see it happen.

I have undergone 3 total and I knew each time the moment the baby left my body. The cramping becomes so intense. Two of my miscarriages the baby just never developed a heart beat. The other we just don't know, it was a second trimester loss and we were actually able to hold the baby (only the size of my hand). I just take comfort in knowing that GOD is in control. I have two healthy, energetic boys and if God is willing someday we will have more!
