    The book that Kevin J. Anderson considers to be his greatest influence is entitled The War of the Worlds. It was written by the British author H.G. Wells in the year 1898. Wells, whose full name is Herbert George Wells, was born in the city of Bromley, which is located in the county of Kent in England on September 21 in the year 1866. He died at the age of 79 years and 326 days in the city of London, the capital of England on August 13 in the year 1946.

    Besides The War of the Worlds,Wells' other notable works include The Time Machine, The Invisible Man and The Island of Doctor Moreau. Wells is considered to the father of science fiction, though he shares the sobriquet with Hugo Gemsback and Frenchman Jules Verne.
