The moon rises in the east and sets in the west. Sometimes it appears to move as it climbs in the sky. However the earth is rotating in orbit , like the planets and moon, so this effects how we view the moon.We do not realise which way the earth spins, yet if we look at the sky the planets, sun moon and stars all appear to be moving from the east to the west.
So maybe the earth is rotating from west to east. Well the moon can also be moving this direction, this may be because the earth is moving around the sun from west to east, as are the nine planets.
