    What's The Chance Of The Water Pump Going Out In A 97 Saturn 1.9 Liter My Car Gets Hot And The Water Is Not Moving Through The Engine And My Temp Gage Don't Register?

    My car is over heating and shutting off and the radiator seems like the water is not flowing

    Check the thermostat, it could be sticking and causing the engine to over heat.

      The temp sensor may cause the car not to run correctly. Also if the seal has gone bad in the water pump it may not be moving the water as it should. The temp sensor will also make the gage not function.

      I drive a 98 Saturn (manual) my car would idle really high and my temp gauge would not read either. Turns out it was my ECT sensor. They are common to go out in saturns. When I'd start my car i had to hit the gas for it to stay running. The ECT sensor was messing all of that up.It only costs about $15-20. It is very easy to fix. I know to other people w/saturns n also had the same problem.
