Financial information is a term, which is used for telling about the profits, loss, expenditures and revenues of the company. The listed companies are required to give an overview of the true and fair financial information to the stakeholders. There are five categories of financial statements in which the financial information of the company is given. These statements include Balance sheet, Profit and loss statement, cash flows statement, retained earning statement, and stockholders equity statement.
The information in these statements gives an idea about the financial position of the company in the market. Income statement gives the information related to revenues and expenses and calculates the net income available to the company. Balance sheet shows the financial position at a specific date by giving details of assets, liabilities and equity. The investors, suppliers, buyers, government, employees and stockholders are interested to get such financial information about the company. In this way financial information of a company acts as a major asset for the company.
