You may have migraine headaches, or simple tension headache (which do not feel so simple!) these do get worse with menstruation. Also there are cluster headaches, where you may go awhile painfree then have headaches pretty bad all at once like in a cluster. Tension and stress headaches should respond to over the counter meds, massage to the neck, rest etc. Migraines are more complicated and really need a doctor's help,

Headache in ladies especially during periods is related with hormonal fluctuation. That is why use of hormonal birth control methods causes headache.
