Our Dog Can't Stop Scratching. What Can We Give Them?

Answer Question

A vinegar water bath will soothe the skin. It isn't harsh like soaps and fleas don't seem to like it. This should help, but if it doesn't take the dog to the vet and find out why the dog is scratching. Benadryl is great for allergic reactions, but if it's not an allergic reaction then you are medicating them for no reason.

Your dog might be allergic to some of the food you give him.  If your dog gets food from the table then you must stop it for a while and see if it gets better.  My one dog did the same thing eventually I had to buy special food for her that you can only buy from your Vet and I also have to bath her in a shampoo for sensitive skin.  I also give her a spoon full of fish oil every day because she got a very dry skin and that helps as well

Depending on the size of the dog, you can give benadryl, and maybe give him a bath too. Hope this helps, if you need to, call a 24 hour vet to find out how much to give him, and please make sure that it isn't poison ivy.
