    It is believed that the term 'Mormon' has been derived from the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon iswhat the followers of Mormonism or of theThe Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (who are refered to as Mormons) believe to be another scriptural witness of Jesus Christ. The Mormons, followers of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (or LDS) or Mormonism claim that the Book of Mormon is comparable to the Bible. It means that the followers of the Later Day Siants believe that both the Book of Mormons and the Bible are the word of God. The founder of Mormonism's name is Joseph Smith Jr.

    According to founder of the religion,  Joseph Smith, Jr., this book, the Book of Mormon was initially written on golden plates, mainly by a prophet who was also a warrior and historian and was named Mormon. According to the Book of Mormon, the prophet, Warrior and Historian Mormon was killed in a great battle between the ancient pre-Columbian civilizations during the fourth Century A.D.

    The official name of the church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, which is based in the Salt Lake City in the state of Utah in the United States The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. However, the term "Mormon Church" has long been associated with the church as a nickname. However, the term Mormon Churst is not an authorized title, and the use of this term is discouraged by the church, even though the use is usually accepted and often used by their own members and followers of the congregation.
