What Is An Electric Shock Collar?

An electric shock collar is a collar which is designed to give the dog a small shock each time that they bark. Many people think that it is a cruel way of training a dog, whilst others think that it is highly effective.

One of the main problems with this type of collar is the fact that they are not always reliable and some can give off a small shock when they are simply knocked. Now obviously with a dog that is bound to happen and even if they are simply running, they could end up with a small shock. Obviously this will mean that the collar is ineffective at training because the dog will be getting small shocks even when they are not barking; which in turn will lead them to becoming confused as to what they have done wrong. So, it is always better to try and find an alternative before using such extreme measures. An electric collar is really cruel and there are other, more humane methods of training a dog not to bark.
