A volcano is basically an opening in earth's surface. During a volcanic activity, hot and molten gases, rocks, ash etc comes out from this rupture in the earth's surface. Over a period of time, this volcanic activity tends to form mountain like features on the surface of earth. This activity can be referred to building of land by volcanoes.
