Where Is Wu Yi From?

Wu Yi born  in November 1938 in Wuhan, China is said to be one of the four vice-premiers of the State Council of the People's Republic of China.

In the year 2006, she was listed as the third most powerful women in the world by Forbes Magazine. She was selected as the mayor of Beijing in the year 1988, and was active in office till the year 1991. From the year 1991 till 1998, she effectively held the position of Deputy Minister of Foreign Economic Relations and Trade, Minister of International Trade and Economic Cooperation and was also a part of the Fourteenth and Fifteenth CPC Central Committees.

During the SARS crisis, she was brought in place of Zhang Wenkang as the new health minister, and helped the committee resolve the crisis.
