Who Invented LAPTOPS?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

A Laptop is a portable form of computers. It is a personal computer and like its name suggests, it can easily be used on a person's lap and thus, can be conveniently moved around.

It has all the features of a normal computer system. It weighs 3-12 pounds and has a thickness of usually 18-38mm. Modern day laptops even have twisting options, touchscreen displays as well as hand recognition ability.

The idea of a Laptop was first conceived by Alan Kay who worked at Xerox PARC in the year 1968. He discussed this idea in his research paper as Dynabook in the year 1972. IBM was the first company that came up with a portable computer. That was in September 1975 and it was based on its 1973 SCAMP prototype.
