What Are Burmese Pythons?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The Burmese python basically is a very big python commonly found in southern Asia, and widespread in the exotic pet trade. It is firmly terrestrial, but heavy-bodied.

Female Burmese pythons are normally bigger than the male ones. The Burmese python can be seen all across Southeast Asia counting Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, China and Indonesia. Burmese pythons usually are light in colour having dark brown marks encircled with black lines down their back. The apparent attractiveness of their skin pattern adds to their reputation with both reptile keepers as well as the leather industry.

Burmese Pythons basically are diurnal rainforest dwellers. Burmese pythons generally breed during early spring, with the females giving approximately 12-36 eggs during March and April and stay with them till they are hatched.
