Where Is Herbert Walker Avenue In Southampton?

Herbert Walker Avenue is located in the city center district or area of south-central Southampton. It runs parallel to the River Test, just alongside its northern banks and where the western docks and the Winward terminal lie. To its north and running parallel to it is the West Bay Road.

The Herbert Walker Avenue runs along the river at a slight angle, from the north-west to the south-east. At its south-eastern end is its best known landmark, the Holiday Inn Hotel. The hotel is located where the West Quay Road meets the Herbert Avenue. On the other side of the Avenue opposite the hotel and towards the River Test is the Mayflower Park.

Another hotel The Mayflower Theatre is also located on the avenue but is not as famous as the Holiday Inn. The Canary Island Fruit Terminal can also be found on the avenue.
