The pointing devices like mouse, light pens, or the trackballs are now getting more speckled as more computers take on the interfaces of graphical nature. All of these devices help out the user to use these interfaces easily and comfortably; they just make these graphics rich interfaces simpler and easier to use with the help of different and advanced methods. These devices are required along with the up to date graphics applications with the help of which one can paint with the help of many different painting tools.

The lines, dots or other painting patterns can be shaped having different thickness and other features. The Digitizers offer a technique to enter non-digital information into the system. Image scanner is one of the important examples of this and they are also known in market with the name of graphics scanners. The main purpose of this device is to convert the images into the form that can be stored in the computer and then can be manipulated by different applications of the computer to produce different effects on the image.

To work with the scanner we must have its appropriate software installed our systems because the hardware only will never be able to work without the software.
