Usually known just as Seal, this soul singer’s full name is Seal Henry Olusegun Kwassi Olumide Adelo Samuel. He was born in London, UK in February 1963 to a Brazilian father and Nigerian mother.

As a child Seal suffered from the skin disease
discoid lupus erythematosus, which causes inflammation, scarring and hair loss: www.patient.co.uk

It left him with the half-moon scars which can still be seen under his eyes; various rumours used to circulate about these, including a story that they were a form of “tribal scarring”, but in fact they are solely the result of this illness. These scars embarrassed and upset him when he was young, but he grew to appreciate them as giving him a distinctive look, a trademark even. He once remarked: "If I could design something, I don’t think I could do it better."

In the early 1980s Seal completed a degree in architecture, and after various temporary jobs he joined a band called Push. He then travelled to a number of countries including India, where he feels he learned a more peaceful accepting attitude towards life, his career and many other things including his childhood scars.

He began to achieve fame in 1990 when, with fellow UK artist Adamski, he co-wrote and recorded the song “Killer” www.youtube.com. This reached Number 1 and was followed by other successes including “Crazy” (actually recorded earlier.) He went on to produce a number of other hits (one of these was “Kiss From a Rose” , known to millions from the film “Batman Forever”) and to win several awards: You can find a complete list at www.rockonthenet.com.

In the 1990s Seal went through a troubled period, finding it difficult to adjust to the pressures of fame. He was also involved in a serious car crash and caught double pneumonia soon afterwards. However, he recovered and continued with his career: His most recent album “Soul”, was released in November 2008.

Seal Samuel married model Heidi Klum in 2005. They have two children, Henry and Johann, as well as Heidi’s daughter Helene from a previous marriage.

or would it be Afro-British or Afro-European... oh I know how about just Musician...
        Report
Afro-Anything is totally incorrect. "Afro" does not denote any country of origin. African-American, or African-European etc...
Although "Black" (& White) is widely used, and accepted, it also does not note a country of origin.
