When asked about the history of aviation, most people go straight to the Wright Brothers and Kitty Hawk, North Carolina.  December 17, 1903 was their day and a day to remember. On that day, Orville won the coin toss and he then made the first successful powered flight in recorded history.   On this fateful day, the Wright Brothers' dream of inventing a flying machine that worked had finally come true.

Prior to this was Leonardo da Vinci, who lived from 1452 to 1519 and had invented several separate flying machines.  He, however, never publicly recorded any prototypes or test flights.  Leonardo’s machines included the ornithopter flying machine, the 1488 design for flying machine, design for flying machine 2 and other flight inspired crafts.  Some of these designs have been built by mechanical engineers and other enthusiasts, to the recorded scales and while some have proven successful in flight they are not always practical or safe.

In the United State, the first scheduled commercial airline flight was on January 1st, 1914 specifically booked for the St. Petersburg - Tampa Airboat Line. The travel time was 23-minute in flight.
If you consider the broad scale and scope of the world, you must consider, a person sitting in a mud hut in Africa could just as easily conceptualize the next great accomplishment in aviation from simply observing nature and applying it to science and technology.

The first flight steward, Heinrich Kubis of Germany's started his steward’s position in 1912.  Specifications for female hostesses or stewardesses read similarly to this: "The girls who qualify for hostesses must be petite, weighing 100 to 118 pounds, a recommended height range of five ft to five ft four in, between 20 and 26 years of age.”

Whether you count the conceptual drawings of da Vinci, or the propelled flight of the Wright Brothers as the beginning of avionic history, it’s all relevant and pertinent to our advancements of today.

The plane was first invented by the Wright brothers on December 17, 1903. After much more testing of aircraft, and Orville Wright and Wilbur Wright, inventors became the first person to fly a plane with it. The plane took off for nearly a hundred and twenty feet in twelve seconds. The plane was the pilot, identified with the wings attached on both sides. Wing was made of wood and was 40 feet. Tried four flights on that very day and then went to Ohio to offer the best aircraft.

It was the first trip to Kitty Hawk, the name of the plane which took off from Tel kill the devil, and the state of North Carolina. Wilbur, born in 1867 and his brother Orville in 1871. The longest trip was an attempt in 1905 and flew for 24 miles.

The first plane invented was created December 12, 1903 by the Wright brothers because of the brothers inspiration for  birds and noticed how the birds changed motion so they wanted to invent such a machine with such tech niches as a bird.

The first plane was invented 1903. The plane could not have been invented before then if they did not fly. That's like holding up a shoe and saying "this is a plane". If it does not fly it is not a plane. I can show you a time machine I have invented. It doesn't work, so does that mean I have still invented it?

The Airplane was invented by the Wright brothers Orville and Wilbur after a series of tests and trials; the first officially recorded flight of their airplane was on December 23, 1903 in North Carolina in the United States. The plane named as the Wright Flyer flew for 12 seconds and traversed a distance of 120 feet; it was built of wood and had an engine of 12 horsepower.

However the Airplane in itself was not an isolated invention like any other and many others from Leonardo Da Vinci and Clement Ader to Alberto Santos Dumont and Samuel Pierpont Langley all contributed in their own way to the fruition of the idea. The invention ushered in the era of aerodynamics and within a few years airplanes began playing an important role from transport and trade to military purposes.

Ummm... Actually Wilbur Wright never married, nor did Orville. A famous quote made by them was, "I cannot support a flying machine and a wife." They didn't have any children what so ever. LOL but u can just go on thinking that ur related to them... Hahahhahaha =D

Orville Wright (1871-1948) and Wilbur Wright (1867-1912) requested a patent application for a "flying machine" nine months before their successful flight in December 1903, which Orville Wright recorded in his diary. It was in the 1800s, that the Wright brothers, working with kites, had worked out the key issue for flight: Control. On the 17th  of December 1903 they were successful in producing the world's first powered flight. Wilbur ran alongside the plane, Flyer, as Orville took off on the sand dunes outside a town called Kitty Hawk in North Carolina, USA. The flight lasted just 12 seconds and travelled 37 metres. This distance is less than the wingspan of a modern airliner, but it was a major accomplishment at the time. On the 8th of October 1908, Wilbur flew their famous plane, Flyer, in front of a large crowd in France. The next day it was all over the French newspapers.
