Unlike doctors when getting a law degree called a juries doctorate (JD), there is no specializations.  You can choose to practice a specific brand of law which can include (but is not limited to) labor and employment, malpractice, tax, family, criminal, corporate, traffic or immigration (the list of specializations is too long to list).  All lawyers once passing the bar are licensed to practice any kind of law within their specific state.
