Kookaburras, Butcher birds. Rainbow lorikeets -- all will serenade in your morning.   Magpies  are common -- especially during their nesting season in September-October.

Possoms.  You may find their antics amusing or a big nuisance, but it's illegal to move them more than a 100 metres from where you find them (they can get easily killed if placed in another possom's territory).

Fruit bats.  Can be pests if they try to eat fruit on trees, but is illegal to harm them.  Simpler to put nets on the tree, instead.

Brush (bush) turkeys.  Yet another protected species that can be cute or a nuisance.

Frogs and toads.  Frogs are good and native.  Cane toads are voracious and horrid.  Kill the cane toads humanely by picking them up with gloves on  (!!! They excrete a nasty venom !!) and putting them in the fridge for an hour, then into the freezer to finish them off.

Geckoes, not a native species, but beneficial in that they eat flies and mosquitos and provide a bit of visual entertainment (running around).
