How Many Visitors Visit Castleton?

    Castleton is what is known as a honey pot village in terms of Travel and Tourism. The village has been a magnet for tourists since the last four hundred years. More than two million visitors visit the village annually. Most of these visitors nearly four out of five are day trippers or those making a days outing. Naturally the village is much more crowded on Weekends. Nearly seventy percent of the locals work in the service sector which mostly caters to tourists.

    Castleton is located in the Peak District National Park and most tourist attractions are related to the park. The village lies in the county of Derbyshire in the north centre of England. The most popular destinations within the park include Lower Derwent, Wye Valley, Hope Valley, Dove & Maniford Valley and Upper Derwent.
